Operation of Logistics Center
Establishing our logistics center in the Noksan Industrial
Complex, which produces over 70% of shipbuilding material and
equipments for Korean shipyards, we reduce indirect cost for
gathering and transportation and secure timely, superior quality
delivery to shipyards.
Supply Chain Management System
Our Supply Chain Management System has been developed to
accomplish a one-stop process including integrated inquiry,
quotation, order and payment on the WEB between shipyards and
vendors whether domestic or overseas. It allows us to
instantaneously share information pertaining to all phases of

Merits of DSME's Designs
1. Basic Design
DSME uses 3-D flow analysis and simulation at the basic design
stage to achieve excellent navigation and economic efficiency for
the first time in the shipbuilding industry. More than 20
revisions and simulations are performed to insure optimal hull
form with the highest economic efficiency. In particular,
propeller design utilizing wing sections enables optimal
propulsion performance and reduced cavitation to increase fuel
efficiency and to minimize vibrational noise.
2. Hull Design
DSME’s advanced hull structure design allows for a 10%
reduction in the number of transverse web frames compared to other
shipyards. Our detailed structural design relieves stress
concentration and our wide framing system results in fewer work
man
hours and labor costs. DSME’s hull design allows increased
strength and cargo capacity by maintaining lighter hull weight.
In addition, easy access to all the compartments within the ship
is factored in for easy maintenance and an ample amount of space
needed for maintenance work. Our hull structure is guaranteed to
have more than a 25-year life span, based on the
technology to analyze energy absorption and impact on the hull
through collision analysis.
3. Outfitting Design
Our outfitting design is based on the desire to enhance repair,
maintenance, user friendliness and safety. All the navigation and
operation equipments are arranged in the steering house, making
one-crew navigation possible. Most of the cargo system and mooring
equipments are automated and computerized to provide the highest
level of operational convenience and efficiency. What’s more, the
design is made in full compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL of IMO.
We have been supplying the total engineering package composed
of design, procurement and management service for Daewoo Mangalia
Heavy Industries(DMHI).Under the technical support of DSEC and
DSME, DMHI has rapidly developed its ship construction capability
to over ten(10) vessels yearly. |
